BeMy Safety Tips

Template notice: This document is a good-faith template provided with the BeMy platform. Please have a qualified lawyer review and adapt it to your jurisdiction before public launch.

Your safety matters to us. BeMy is built so you can connect with people on your terms, but no platform can replace good judgement and common-sense precautions. Please read and share these tips.

1. Meeting someone in person

  • Meet in public. Pick a busy spot for a first meeting — a café, a bar, a park. Avoid private homes for the first couple of dates.
  • Tell someone. Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be home. Share your live location if your phone supports it.
  • Own transport. Arrange your own way there and back. Don't rely on someone you just met for a ride home.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, leave. You don't owe anyone your time.
  • Limit alcohol and substances. Stay clear-headed, especially on a first meeting.

2. Protecting your personal information

  • Don't share your home address, workplace, financial details, passwords, or copies of ID with anyone you've just met online.
  • Be cautious about people who quickly move conversation off BeMy or ask for money, gift cards, or crypto — these are classic romance-scam red flags.
  • Use unique photos on BeMy. A reverse image search on your own photos can help you spot impersonation.

3. Consent

Consent is continuous, enthusiastic, and can be withdrawn at any time — for messages, photos, and meetups alike. Don't send explicit content that hasn't been asked for, and don't pressure anyone else to do so.

4. Blocking, reporting, and privacy controls

  • Every profile on BeMy has options to block or report. Use them — blocked users can't message you or see your profile.
  • Use your Boundaries and Profile visibility settings to control who can contact you and what they see.
  • Screenshots: assume any message or photo could be saved. Think twice before you send.

5. Emergency contacts

If you're ever in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first:

  • United States / Canada: 911
  • United Kingdom: 999
  • European Union: 112
  • Australia: 000

For non-emergency abuse reports on BeMy, contact us at support@bemy.fun. For emotional support, national hotlines such as Samaritans are available 24/7.

6. Reporting abuse

Harassment, impersonation, minors on the platform, sexual coercion, and any threat of violence should be reported immediately. Email support@bemy.fun with as much detail as you can (profile URL, screenshots, message dates). We review reports 7 days a week and will act quickly.
