This Privacy Policy explains how BeMy collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our platform. We care about your privacy — connection should never come at the cost of control over your own data.
1. Overview
BeMy is a social and dating platform. We collect only the information we need to run the service, keep our community safe, and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
From you directly
- Account data — email address, password, and, when you sign in, authentication session tokens.
- Profile data — name, username, date of birth, gender, ethnicity, bio, location, interests, intent, and any photos you upload.
- Content — stories, posts, comments, messages, group chats, and events you create or participate in.
- Payments — when you buy Chips, Stripe processes your card details. We receive a transaction record (amount, currency, status) but never your full card number.
Collected automatically
- Device & usage — IP address, browser type, OS, device identifiers, pages visited, and actions taken.
- Cookies & similar technologies — see Section 5.
- Push subscription — if you opt in to notifications, a browser push endpoint is stored so we can deliver them.
3. How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the BeMy service.
- Show your profile, stories, and events to other users consistent with your privacy settings.
- Facilitate connections, messaging, and event applications.
- Process Chip purchases and profile boosts through Stripe.
- Send push notifications you've opted in to (likes, connection requests, event updates).
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share your information
We share data only with the third parties needed to run BeMy, and only for the purposes described here:
- Supabase — our hosted database and authentication provider. Your account and profile data are stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes payments. Governed by Stripe's own Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — hosts the BeMy web application.
- Web-push providers — when you opt in to notifications, we deliver them through the browser vendor's push endpoint (e.g. Apple, Google, Mozilla).
- Other users — information you choose to share on your profile or posts is visible to other BeMy users consistent with your privacy settings.
- Law enforcement — when required by valid legal process, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
BeMy uses cookies and local storage for essential site functions (authentication, session management, remembering your language choice) and for basic analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies any time in your browser settings, but some features will not work without them.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access and receive a copy of your personal information;
- correct or update inaccurate information;
- delete your account and associated data;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- port your data to another service;
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

7. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), role-based access controls, and Supabase Row Level Security policies that keep one user's data from being readable by another. No system is perfectly secure; please help us by using a strong password and keeping it private.
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, safety, or accounting purposes.
9. International transfers
BeMy is a global service. By using BeMy you understand that your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection for these transfers.
10. Children's privacy
BeMy is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it to support@bemy.fun and we will take action.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
